The Society of Low-Energy Observers (SLO) was an astronomy club in the Memphis, Tennessee area, known for its group participation in regional star parties and a level of activity that belied its name. SLO was a member organization of the Astronomical League. As nearly as we can determine, the group did not survive the tragic and untimely death in 2002 of its president, Kathey Nix, after a short battle with cancer.Known members included Kathey, Ben Hudgens and Todd Slisher.
